Josh Felser

Treasurer

Josh Felser is attending the Cleveland Institute of Music, majoring in Viola Performance, and studying with Jeffrey Irvine for his undergraduate studies since the fall of 2022.


In the past, he attended the Colburn Music Academy, where he was the principal/assistant principal viola of the virtuosi chamber orchestra, studying privately with Teng Li. He was the principal violist for the award-winning Denver School of the Arts (DSA) Advanced Orchestra and played in the Denver Young Artist Orchestra YAO sitting principal viola. Josh attended the Boston University Tanglewood Institute (2019), Colorado All-State Orchestra (2020), Curtis Summerfest (2020), Meadowmount (2021), the National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America (NYO-USA) (2022), the Aspen Music Festival (2023), and the ENCORE String Quartet Intensive (2023). He received numerous scholarships, including the DYAO Scholarship in memory of Janet Rae Naster to attend the Aspen Music Festival, the Denver School of the Arts Friends Foundation Scholarship in 2020 and 2021, and a CIM tuition scholarship. In terms of competitions, Josh competed in the Aspen Lower String Concerto Competition in 2023, won the EOP Competition (intermediate viola division) in 2016, and received ASTACAP awards with honors (levels 1-7).


He has performed numerous chamber works, including Anton Arensky String Quartet No. 2, Antonin Dvorak Piano Quintet No. 2 in A Major, Bela Bartok’s 4th String Quartet, Leos Janacek’s 1st String Quartet, Ludwig van Beethoven String Quartet Op.18 No. 4, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Piano Quartet No. 1. Josh attended the pre-college program at the University of Denver Lamont School of Music, focusing on chamber music. He would like to thank his friends and family for all of their support throughout his entire musical career.
